VOODOO DOUGHNUT EXTENDS PARTNERSHIP WITH JACK AND JILL FOUNDATION TO SUPPORT INVESTMENTS IN SERVICES AND PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON IMPACTING THE UNDERLYING ISSUES AFFECTING AFRICAN AMERICAN CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

This quarterly charitable campaign supports Voodoo Doughnut’s ongoing commitment
to giving back to communities

PORTLAND, OR (October 6, 2020): Voodoo Doughnut, known for its handmade and innovative doughnuts, announces its quarterly give-back campaign, extending its partnership with Jack and Jill Foundation through the creation of the exclusive Apple Crumble doughnut. Available today through December 27, 2020, at participating Voodoo Doughnut locations*, the Apple Crumble is a raised yeast shell filled with chunky apple jelly and dipped in caramel frosting and crushed ginger snaps – simply perfect for fall.

A portion of the proceeds from every Apple Crumble doughnut sold will go directly to Jack and Jill Foundation. As the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., the Foundation is committed to supporting services, programs and organizations that address underlying causes of social problems affecting African American communities, families and ultimately children. The Apple Crumble will be sold at participating Voodoo Doughnut locations in Portland, Milwaukie and Eugene, OR; Austin and Houston, TX; and Denver, CO.

“It is an honor and a privilege to partner with Voodoo Doughnut to make a lasting impact to underserved communities. Jack and Jill of America Foundation was created during the civil-rights era in 1968 by African American women to improve the lives of children, especially those in disadvantaged and underserved areas. Local Jack and Jill of America, Inc. chapters execute the Foundation’s mission by partnering with nonprofit organizations while instilling philanthropy in their children.” said Pier Blake, Executive Director.

“To know the Foundation is to love it for all our wonderful works and acts of goodness that impact black children and their families. I think of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. as the ‘body’ of the organization and the Foundation as its ‘heart.’” says Dr. Icilma Fergus-Rowe, Foundation President.

“We are excited and humbled to partner with the Jack and Jill Foundation,” said Chris Schultz, Voodoo Doughnut CEO. “Since 1968, the Foundation has made a positive impact by serving communities throughout the U.S., and we are proud to play a small part in their impact by donating a portion of the proceeds from the Apple Crumble doughnut,” continued Schultz.

These limited time fall flavors are available today through December 27, 2020 in participating Voodoo Doughnut locations.

Don’t Forget the Fan Favorite Dashing Pumpkin Doughnut
